cocobeach

Puerto Galera - the poor man's Boracay, the beach bums always call it. Of course nothing beats the nightlife energy and the white sands of Boracay. However I beg to disgaree that Mindoro has one of the sweet mini Boracay shores there is, only at a more affordable price and cheaper transportation. I've been to Cocobeach and I thought it was one of the nicest place I've been to Mindoro. Even if the rates are quite pricier than that of the White Beach "commando budget" it still has the best service plus the tastiest buffet breakfast in the morning. They even give you these native bags (actually they lend it to you so you can place your stuff there while roaming round the beach) and plus they have a complimentary coconut toiletries that you will find on your bed right after you arrive. The only downside if you stay in this place is the water. It's not a normal water, it's sticks to your hair when you have your shower so I suggest you to bring a good hair conditioner in one bottle as you might use all of it's contents.

block the sun!

I absolutely recommend this suntan lotion by Hawaiian Tropic.
Your skin can never go wrong after applying SPF70 in the heat of the summer sun.

I visited Mercury Drug in Glorietta and it still costs around P500.

You'll probably use it the whole summer and there will be even more left behind, depending on the amount you apply on your skin. It's been another summer or so but mine still has around 1/3 of the suntan bottle. I should probably dispose it and buy a new bottle though ;-) Anyhow, don't forget to bring it when you head for Batangas or Caticlan or wherever beach you are headed this season of the sun!

coffee beanie notebooks

Eversince Starbucks has started the merry holiday sticker collection of their Yearly Organizer, the other coffee shops even the local ones have tried to make their own version to boost their sales to their caffeine addict customers. Finally The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf had redeemed itself to have its own spot in the scene. A girlfriend of mine and myself sneeked out of work on a midnight and went for a caffeine fix at the Coffee Bean branch in Convergys Ayala Avenue and found out about this. It's not actually an organizer but a clear notebook with the logo of Coffee Bean. It has no lines and perfect for the quickie notes you need to juggle between tasks. I will post my sticker here later and then have it uploaded. Til then have a morning or late caffeine fixie!

linea italia sale

I've always been a shopper on a budget. I won't go too far on buying something that i can barely afford. But you have got to be there when a sale in Linea Italia. I visited their Megamall branch and their shoes were merely priced at P700 to P900. Almost every shoe at a 60% off. From P2,790 to P900. The shoes were gorgeous especially the flats. I bought myself a flats from Marshalls at P900.

moisturise

Why? A woman has every reason to take care of her skin. It clearly shows how she takes care of herself and well most definitely her skin defines her age. All the stress and life experience is marked on your skin so we have to take care of our skin ladies, we have to (even if we are too lazy).
I have been browsing for the right kind of moisturiser since it’s almost summer and well.. my skin and face is starting to get dry and oily at random times of the day. Working half of the month at night and then another half in the morning is the most conflicting of all schedules. And so one Friday I paid a visit to Watsons and then at the Landmark to check for the same moisturiser my mom has been using (that is now long empty and unreplaced but we still haven’t had the luck to chance upon the same brand in any store I went in - Olay for sensitive skin.) I usually buy L’oreal Gelified Toner as a replacement cleanser but I can’t find a brand near any Mercury Drug outlet. I bought the Olay Creame for Oily Skin. Initially I thought is a leave-on overnight cream that I thought it was. Apparently, you need to wash your face using the creame and then rinse it afterwards. I bought it because it is cheap. Roughly costing 200 pesos, it’s a good buy. I used it for 3 days now and I’ve been pleasantly surprised that I’ve seen good results on my face. I am very lazy and a daily (or nightly) wash and rinse process will never work for me so a cleanser and then moisturiser is still the best for me. And so after buying the Olay Cleanser, I bought on the succeeding day, a moisturiser. This is mainly because I ’m scared I will not use the Cleanser. The choice is Olay White Radiance Lotion. It’s a facial lotion, works best with oily skin (as what the Landmark Saleslady told me). It’s also reasonably priced at 200 pesos, but the thing is it is only 30ml. I think that’s not too bad for a good tryout anyways.
The moisturiser and cleanser basically all boils down to stress and overtime. It is very common nowadays that people work at night and it drains a lot of moisture from the body. Sometimes the eyebags are the worst enemy of the nightshifters. I feel for the Call Center Agents that work at night likewise for the other people from different fields working on the same schedule (like myself). Sometimes it’s actually best to bring it to work.

So if it suits you (say you have oily/dry or combination skin type), try Olay White Radiance Intensive Whitening Lotion (it’s got SPF24 too!) Best to apply it after your nightshift schedule right after you hit the road, either commuting or driving. Better get rid of those ugly wrinkly spots.

Do try the Olay Cleanser too and L’oreal Gelified Toner (375 plus I think).
